At UCB, we constantly seek to enhance our security measures so as to give our customers added assurance when banking with us. We have implemented a series of additional controls to better safeguard the interest of our customers. To enjoy greater piece of mind, it is important that you update your contact details by calling our 24-hour Customer Service.
Our enhanced suite of security measures includes
All newly issued UCB Credit Cards will be sent out in deactivated mode. Before using your new card, you are required to activate it by calling our 24-hour Customer Service. This security measure minimises the risk of unauthorised use of your new UCB Credit Card in the event you did not receive the card.
UCB Credit Card(s) remain de-activated for overseas use unless Customers request to activate it.
De-activating the Card for overseas use will reduce the risk of an unauthorised transaction* being effected on the credit card.
To activate or de-activate your credit card(s) to allow overseas use, please contact our 24-hour Customer Service. It is the responsibility of the Customer to De-Activate the Card Once he/she returns from abroad. If not the Card will remain active for overseas use.
* Transactions refer to point of sale (POS) purchases made using a Credit card.
As another deterrent to fraudulent activity, transaction alerts will be sent to all UCB Credit Card holders via SMS (Short Message Service) whenever a purchase is charged to either the principal or supplementary Card. If the purchase is neither transacted by you nor your supplementary cardholder, you should notify us immediately by calling our 24-hour Customer Service.
The SMS will be sent to the Principal Cardholder’s mobile number recorded on our system. Please update your current mobile number with us today to ensure you are kept informed of your transaction details.
This is an additional layer of security specifically for your online transactions. Whenever you make an online purchase with your credit card at participating 3-D Secure (3DS) merchants, you will be asked to enter an OTP (One-time Password), which will be sent to you via SMS (to the mobile number recorded on our system), or e-mail before the transaction can be approved. This will increase security against online fraud, as online purchases will be made only after authorisation is obtained from the credit cardholder.
Please note that this additional security measure is only applicable to participating 3DS merchants with 3DS authentication protocols such as “SecureCode” (MasterCard) or VBV (Visa)
