RFCD - Resident Foreign Currency Deposit Account
Any person ordinarily resident in Bangladesh may open and maintain Resident Foreign Currency Deposit (RFCD) accounts with foreign exchange brought in at the time of their return from travel abroad. FAQ
Eligibility:
- Resident Bangladeshi nationals
- Age: 18 years & above
Features:
- International Debit Card (USD only)
- Currency: US Dollar, Pound Sterling or Euro
- Foreign currency deposited in this account is freely convertible into Taka with prevailing exchange rate
- Deposited foreign currency may easily be sent abroad through banking channel for any lawful purpose
- Up to USD 10,000 or its equivalent may be deposited in this account at any time after return to Bangladesh
- Amount in excess of USD 10,000 or its equivalent we require declaration form customs authority (should be deposited in this account within 30 days of arrival)

Required Documents:
- Copy of valid Passport of accountholder (with visa, arrival & departure seal pages)
- Applicant's Photograph - 2 copies
- Declaration for depositing FC in prescribed form
- FMJ Declaration Form for amount exceeding USD 10,000 or its equivalent
- Declaration that ‘No RFCD A/C maintained with other bank’
- Nominee's photo ID
- Nominee's photograph- 1 copy
- Proof of address - Utility bill
- Income Tax Return Proof (if available)
